We are a 24 hour service
The Junior Rescue Squad is designed for students who are in High School ages 16 – 21 years of age. Junior Members may continue their membership after High School if they are in school.
Once a Junior Member enrolls in college, they are required to pull 12 hours on each of their breaks from college (spring summer, fall & winter break). Junior Members are required to possess a valid CPR/AED certification for the Healthcare Provider. Once a Junior Member reaches the age of 18, s/he are encouraged to obtain their EVOC certification at which point they may operate our fleet in emergency situations.
All training for Junior Members is provided at no cost to them.
The Senior Rescue Squad has two types of memberships. Full & Associate. Full Members are required to pull 48 hours each month. Full Members have the right to vote, hold office and are eligible to receive personal property tax relief on one of their vehicles. Full Members who pull the weekend are only required to pull every other weekend. The weekend is defined as Saturday or Sunday (Day or Night Shift).
Associate Members are required to pull 16 hours per month. Members who are Full Members have the right to vote, hold office and are eligible to receive personal property tax relief on one of their vehicles. Associate Members are not eligible to vote, hold office or not eligible to receive personal property tax relief. Associate Members who pull the weekend are only required to pull 12 hours per month. The weekend is defined as Saturday or Sunday (Day or Night Shift).
Senior Members at a minimum are required to possess a valid driver’s license in the Commonwealth of Virginia with positive points (+1 or higher). Also, Senior Members must possess a valid EVOC, CPR & AED certification. All training is provided to members at no cost to them.
All members are required to attend monthly meetings and training unless of extenuating circumstances (work or family emergencies and etc.)
